YESSSSSSS....!!!!


On the 2nd of November, our local 2-year college opened up its gallery so the "VOID WHERE PROHIBITED" art group could have an exhibit of the art that has materialized from the nothingness that is the VOID. It was a show that consisted of 8 different artists. Some of the art was visual...well most of it was...and some of it was written (which was AWESOME!) .

The art show was held for two glorious hours on that Friday night, amidst a steady stream of viewers and belly dancing and laughter. The response from the community was great for our little dwelling here on this Mountain!! On the opeining night, we had more than 75 people in attendence who signed our guest book and more who didn't (i know i didn't). Since that night, even more people came to see the wonderful world of VOID ART who either didn't see the guest book, or forgot to sign it.
........In short...MANY people viewed the art that was so carefully and skillfully displayed there in the gallery at the college.

There were a few sales. There were some who were interested and may come back to purchase a piece of the wonderful and expressive art that was displayed there.

Personally, (oh, this is , just in case you don't know) i sold one piece and may sell more, depending on how my eBay store does. i can't speak for all of the other artists, although i know there were at least two more sales.

But sales were not the reason for the show. Our unusual art group toiled to show its art because we believe that our community NEEDS to see what the 'other' artists are drawing out from the VOID and bringing into being on canvas, in clay, on paper, etc. .....Some things besides landscapes and Still Life art (which is beautiful on its own, don't get me wrong!!). We follow a different path and it shows!

So, speaking for myself, i can say that i was thankful for the opportunity to show my own work and to help others show their work (...two in particular are and who have not had the opportunity before this to be involved in an art show.) . Other participants here on dA are and . And if you haven't seen their galleries ....GO DO IT!!! They are both SUPER TALENTED ARTISTS who deserve your admiration!
The other artists involved are not here on Deviant Art, but will be named later.....to protect my innocence....(as if!)

...... Here's to next year and a BIGGER and BETTER show!!!
